Starting off merely as a competition barbecue team, Jeff and Joy were award winning barbecue cooks that didn't expect to ever own the number one top rated barbecue food chain in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a team they lacked extra refrigeration space for all their catering, so they decided to seek help from a guy who was operating a convenient store and Gas station at that time which just so happened to have a small fried chicken counter in the corner. Their little business venture was so successful that they asked to buy the building if the owner was ready to retire, and he ended up selling it right away.
